On August 15th 2022 the virtual signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between China Power Construction Engineering Consulting (CPCEC) and Indochina Energy Partners (IEP) covering the development of a series of Renewable Energy projects in Vietnam, took place.
The Power Development Plan 8 for Vietnam and the commitments made by Vietnam at COP26 and in Decision 55 call for significant investments in Renewable Energy in Vietnam. CPCEC and IEP have therefore decided to pool their resources and experience to develop a number of Renewable Energy projects.
The projects will generate in excess of 7 TWh over the lifetime of the projects and offset in excess of 6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions over the lifetime of the projects.
Mr. Yao Xiaoping, Chairman of CPCEC stated that CPCEC was committed to further expanding their presence and activities in South East Asia, especially Vietnam.
Thomas Jakobsen, Managing Director of IEP stated that CPCEC comes with an excellent track record in implementing a broad spectrum of Renewable Energy project in the region and is therefore a valuable partner in ensuring the successful implementation of the upcoming projects.
